Our Place in The Good Food Guide 2025 Top 100

We’re thrilled to find out that Y Marram has been included in The Good Food Guide’s Top 100 Local Restaurants for 2025. It’s a massive moment for the whole team, and we’re so proud to be in there alongside some other fantastic places from Anglesey and North Wales.

What Is The Good Food Guide?

For anyone who doesn’t know, The Good Food Guide is essentially a bible for restaurants in Britain. It’s been going since 1951, and what makes it so respected is that the inspectors are always anonymous. They book a table, eat the food, and pay the bill just like everyone else. There's no special treatment, just an honest opinion. It means the experience the Guide acknowledged is the exact same one you'll get any night of the week.

It’s especially humbling to be shortlisted for the Best Local Restaurants 2025 as it relies on nominations from the general public. Each year, tens of thousands of public nominations are whittled down to a list of the 100 best, from which regional winners (Central & East of England, London, North East England, North West England, Scotland, South East England, South West England and Wales) and one overall winner are selected.

Why It Matters

That’s why this means so much. It’s a huge validation to the progress we are making and of what we’re doing as a team. The team has really been focusing on our approach to local produce, to cooking from scratch and education, the food, the welcome and the whole atmosphere. This guide has always celebrated authentic, community-driven restaurants that offer real warmth and great food.

A Win for Anglesey and North Wales

We’re also incredibly proud to be flying the flag for Anglesey and the North Wales food scene. There’s so much amazing stuff happening here. We’re surrounded by a brilliant community of growers, fishermen, and farmers, and this award feels like a win for all of them, too.
