Kieran Ryder
Kieran began his chef journey at Liverpool’s L20 Community College before working guest chef events at Hugh Baird, where he caught the eye of renowned chef Nigel Haworth. Nigel recruited him in 2014 as an apprentice within the Northcote Collection, joining the new opening of The Nags Head, Houghton.
In 2017, Kieran made the move to Northcote itself, working under acclaimed North West chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen. There, he honed his skills in high-end technical cookery while deepening his passion for the ethos and principles behind great food.
In 2020, Kieran returned to Liverpool to join fellow Scouser chef Ellis Barrie for the opening of Lerpwl at the Royal Albert Dock. He quickly climbed the ranks, stepping into leadership and becoming an integral part of the team. Lerpwl went on to win numerous awards in its first year and became a key part of the North West dining scene.
After Lerpwl sadly closed following the challenges of the pandemic, Kieran carried forward a wealth of experience, from leadership and kitchen craft to a deep knowledge of Welsh producers, suppliers and artisans. This led him to rejoin the Barries on Ynys Môn / Anglesey, taking the lead in the kitchen as Head Chef to help reopen Y Marram and put it firmly back on the map.
It’s fair to say Kes doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
