OKTOBERTFEST MÔN AT Y MARRAM

  • YMARRAM Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Wales, LL61 United Kingdom (map)

Oktoberfest Môn at Y Marram

Bavaria meets Ynys Môn for one afternoon only. We’re throwing open the doors of Y Marram for Oktoberfest Môn, a big, boisterous celebration of Welsh pork, warm pretzels, live brass and fancy dress, all served up on long sharing tables under the canopy.

Think steins, sausages and a sousaphone, with a proper Anglesey twist. Every plate is built on Welsh produce, from the beer-braised pork hocks to the apple strudel, and the bar and beer gravy come courtesy of our friends at Wild Horse.

The Feast

We’re serving it the Oktoberfest way, family style, with boards and bowls landing in the middle of the table for everyone to dig into.

To start

  • Warm pretzels with whipped Welsh butter and beer mustard

Welsh Pork Feast

  • Crispy beer-braised Welsh pork hock

  • Caraway and sage roast Welsh pork belly

  • Welsh pork and leek bratwurst, made in-house

  • Wild Horse beer gravy

For the table

  • Bratkartoffeln, Bavarian-style fried potatoes

  • Apple and cider braised red cabbage Caraway sauerkraut

  • Charred hispi with brown butter and Welsh cheddar

  • Apple, fennel and herb salad

  • Pickles, mustard and apple sauce

Dessert

  • Warm Anglesey apple strudel with vanilla custard

Fancy Dress: Welsh or German Icons

Fancy dress is very much encouraged. The theme is Welsh or German icons, so come as anyone from Owain Glyndŵr to Angela Merkel, Tom Jones to Beethoven, a Welsh lady in a tall black hat or a full lederhosen-clad Bavarian. There are prizes for Best Dressed and Best Table, plus a stein-holding competition for the strong of arm.
