About Romy

We're delighted to welcome Romy Gill MBE back to Y Marram for a one-night-only guest chef evening celebrating her vibrant Indian cooking, storytelling, and shared dining.

Romy holds a special place in Y Marram's story — it was Romy who cooked our very first Guest Chef dinner, and every visit since has felt like a homecoming. Her food is rooted in the flavours of her childhood in West Bengal: bold spicing, real warmth, and dishes that carry family stories with them. She cooks the way she talks — generously, joyfully, and with nothing held back.

And this visit comes at a thrilling moment. This September, Romy opens her new restaurant, Romy Gill at The Pem, at the Conrad London St. James — her return to a permanent restaurant kitchen after six years, celebrating authentic regional Indian cuisine. We've been working on it with her on this, and on 5th August Y Marram guests might just be among the very first to taste where she's heading next. Expect music, laughter, a Q&A, and the kind of evening only an old friend of Y Marram can deliver.

Live Music

EVE GOODMAN

We're also thrilled to reveal that singer-songwriter Eve Goodman will be performing live on the night. Raised in North Wales, Eve writes and performs in both Welsh and English, weaving honest lyricism with mesmerising vocal hooks inspired by nature and the landscapes around us. Her debut album, Summer Sun, Winter Trees, was released in 2024, and she has performed internationally and featured on Bryn Terfel's album Sea Songs. Songlines described her voice as flowing "like deep water" — the perfect accompaniment to an unforgettable evening by the dunes.
